Can I attend traffic school for a ticket I got in Colorado? I live in San Francisco, CA.

Both California and Colorado do have traffic school systems. If you contact the department of motor vehicles or the clerk of the court where you received your ticket, normally they can determine if you are eligible to take a driving course.

States typically have laws regarding what type of traffic violation driving school can be used for to dismiss or adjudicate the offense conviction. To use a defensive driving, or other type of driver improvement class for your violation, you will first have to verify if Colorado allows a class to be taken for it. Then find out if you can take a class with an out of state license. Most states only permit traffic schools for in state motorist.

If its not an option taking a traffic class in Colorado, next you could check with the California DMV to check if it is possible to take a California driving class to keep the out of state infraction off of your driving record.
